Police chase in Westland ends in a three-car pile up

WESTLAND, Mich. (WXYZ) — A wild police chase ends in a serious crash in Westland.

A vehicle flips on top of another and leaves a third in a mangled mess.

The chaotic scene played out across from the BP gas station on Merriman and Van Born Road.

Cell phone video shows the aftermath and traffic jammed at the intersection.

Bystanders say a vehicle involved in the crash was part of a high-speed police chace moments before impact.

An employee at a nearby gas station said multiple people were injured.

7 Action News’ multiple calls to Westland police were not returned.
