A felon sought by authorities in connection with armed robberies of two local businesses and an out-of-area carjacking earlier this week was killed Thursday evening while fleeing from Oregon state troopers in Marion County.

Amber L. Mosey, 30, of St. Helens was the chief suspect in the robberies at Anna’s Deli, in the 4700 block of Royal Avenue, on Tuesday, and Sips Drive Thru Espresso Bar, in the 4100 block of West 11th Avenue, the next day, Eugene police said Friday. In both robberies, Mosey allegedly pointed a gun at employees and fled with undisclosed sums of cash, they said.

Mosey, who has a long criminal record and had been sentenced to a total of eight years in prison since 2010, was reported to have fled Sips driving a red Honda Civic, the same car that an off-duty police officer spotted abandoned in the 1300 block of Acorn Park about 90 minutes after the robbery.
