Dash cam shows north Georgia chase, PIT maneuver

PICKENS COUNTY, Ga. — A wanted man’s attempts to escape Tuesday didn’t get very far after deputies ran his tag, gave chase and eventually forced his truck off the road.
The incident happened in Pickens County just before 3 p.m. when deputies checked a tag and found that the driver, Joseph David Haynes, had an outstanding felony warrant for his arrest.
That was likely one reason he refused to stop when the blue lights came on behind him. Haynes, the alleged driver, is seen on dash camera video trying to escape deputies – sometimes swerving around other drivers and cutting through intersections. But the attempt comes to the end after a Pursuit Intervention Technique (PIT) maneuver where deputies quickly surrounded him with guns drawn.
