Police K9 shot, killed in the line of duty in Texas

(Meredith) — A police K9 was shot and killed during a police chase near San Antonio, Texas.
The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the death of K9 Chucky, a 5-year-old Belgian Malinois, in a Facebook post.
“K9 Chucky was struck by gunfire from the suspect and has passed away. We are deeply saddened by the loss of K9 Chucky and our hearts are with his handler and his family at this time,” the post read.
