WEST PALM BEACH —The first time the folks in the K-9 unit at the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office set their eyes on Cigo, they knew he was a keeper.
“He was big, he was fast and he was athletic,” said Lt. Michael Kletzky, who runs PBSO’s unit. “Everything you want in a police K-9.”
Kletzky and hundreds of fellow mourners at the Coral Sky Amphitheatre paid their final respects Thursday morning to K-9 Cigo, a 3-year-old black German shepherd killed Dec. 24 during an arrest at The Mall at Wellington Green.
