A Royse City police officer and a Hunt County sheriff’s deputy were hospitalized early Thursday after their patrol vehicles collided with each other during a chase, officials said.
The crash happened shortly after midnight along eastbound Interstate 30 near State Highway 69 in Greenville, Sheriff Randy Meeks said in a written statement. The chase began in Rockwall County.
According to Meeks, Royse City officers asked the Hunt County Sheriff’s Department for help with a pursuit. As the suspect left the interstate, a deputy’s patrol vehicle and a Royse City police car crashed, Meeks said.
