STARKE — One of three men fleeing Bradford County sheriff’s deputies on a pursuit through Starke was fatally shot Tuesday afternoon in a recreation center field when he tried to run from the car and pulled a rifle on authorities, the sheriff’s department reported.
Killed was Davaughdre Rogers, 20.
“He was engaged, shot, fell down and dropped the gun, and then he was reaching for the gun again,” said Sheriff Gordon Smith. “The bullet placements were in the middle part of the body. As far as the exit wounds, that’s going to be determined as part of the autopsy.”
